Qmmunity: Soothslaying This Fall

DATE POSTED:October 1, 2026

In the past few days, I’ve found myself a little taken with internet soothsayers. I’m not talking about the dark Polymarket warlocks or Kalshi demons but rather those front-facing video fortune tellers who always know which phase the moon’s in. Last weekend was a big one: a full harvest moon! According to some woman whose Instagram Reel I watched half of, the period between Friday and Saturday was super powerful – possibly world-changing. How did I, personally, use this incredible period? Reader, I watched Nacho Libre with my friends. We all change the world in different ways.

Anyway! The season turns from summer to autumn, and suddenly the mystical is more apparent in our lives. Sometimes the prospect of incorporeal forces aligning and shifting helps make all those tangible evils actually ruining mine and others’ lives less overwhelming. Maybe the Taurus moon will remove power from those who seek to roll back transgender rights and increase anti-immigrant sentiments. Or maybe it’ll give everyone a sore throat. I’m not an internet soothsayer; I’m just your friendly queer columnist and events listing curator. Whatever you take from the moon is your business.
