Go to enough political protests in Texas and the contours become pretty easy to spot, even from a distance. In the biggest cities, you’ll often find huge groups of people rallying for abortion rights or marching against restrictive immigration policies. The impressive crowds can create a mirage that this time, there’s something changing in the state.
