Just down the hall from her office at Tyler County Hospital is the room where Sondra Williams came into this world. The recovery bay, where her mother rested after the delivery, is close by, as is the small nursery where Sondra lay as a swaddled infant. Now the hospital’s CEO, Williams hurries through those same corridors nearly every day.Inside the one-story building’s brick walls, she’s seen patients, most of whom are her neighbors and friends, treated for all manner of maladies. She’s seen them summoned back to life after heart attacks and strokes. She’s seen them wheeled in, bleeding profusely from gunshot or stab wounds.
