Update: After the publication of this story, the Houston World Cup host committee clarified that it recommends visitors use a variety of transportation methods to travel from city hubs to the stadium. I’d been walking across Houston for two and a half miserable hours and had finally sighted the white roof of NRG Stadium looming in the distance. Then the thunderstorm hit.
