On a recent Saturday night, Fernando Chacon performed a short stand-up set at Crabs & Laughs, a comedy club in Grand Prairie. Chacon, who’s known professionally as Panda for his relaxed demeanor, silliness, and soft belly, straddles the spotlight shining on the small stage. He cracks a joke about his cousin with an MS-13 tattoo across his forehead and follows that with the retelling of a moment when his nephew called him fat.
