It’s such a sleepy town; it seems like nothing goes on here besides church and, well . . . more church. Her father was deeply involved in the Key City’s municipal affairs, her momma’s people were Big Country pioneers who helped establish nearby Potosi, and during World War II the Texanist’s maternal grandmother was the first brigadier general of the Bluebonnet Brigade, a women’s organization engaged in morale boosting for soldiers at nearby Camp Barkeley.
