The only magazine in the country with a barbecue editor other than Texas Monthly is Southern Living. Since 2014, Robert F. Moss has produced its annual list of the “Top 50 BBQ Joints in the South.” The most recent was published last September. Shortly after it was released, I shared some strong opinions about how Texas-heavy the list leaned. (There are seventeen Texas joints on the list, and I think there should be zero.
